Embracing the Sacredness of Life and Death
The Currents of Life and Death
Oconomowoc Public Library

The wonder of life is often overlooked. The gift of being alive, of appreciating ourselves, each other, and the world we live in, is often ignored in our busyness of life. Remembering the fragility of our days awakens us to the truth of how fragile life is. Remembering that we all will leave this world.
Contemplating our EOL invites us to reassess our priorities, gain a clear understanding of what truly matters, and humbly reconstruct our life’s vision.

This program is an invitation for anyone seeking a more intentional approach to living and a wider lens to end-of-life planning. Consciously contemplating and connecting with others around the reality of your mortality will change how you live and die, right here, right now, and for the rest of your life.
Please join Kathy Ginn as she opens the door to exploring the Sacredness of Life and Death:
  • What is currently happening in our society today regarding Aging, Elder care and End-of-Life Care?
  • Enrich Your Life by Contemplating Your End of Life; Live and Embrace What Matters.
  • End-of-life care Doula—What is an EOL Care Doula? It is important to remember that death is not a medical experience—it is a human experience.
  • Body-centered Grief Companion; we grieve with our body, mind, heart, and soul.
Kathy is a community care doula and death literacy advocate. She is the creative force behind 4Rivers Center for Well Being and Sacred River, both located in Oconomowoc.

Kathy serves those who wish to age gracefully, live fully and with meaning, embrace their individual mortality, and enjoy one of the most precious gifts we have: time. She is an end-of-life touch Therapist, Hakomi Bodyworker, Certified Grief Companion, and Certified end-of-life Care Doula. Kathy also serves as an Educator, Retreat Leader, and Author.
Kathy is passionate about the sacredness of life and death and feels honored to walk with you on your unique and individual life journey. Participants can expect to come away with a rich and meaningful way of looking at
their life and the power of contemplating their end-of-life.

Kathy Ginn is 4 Rivers Center for Well Being's End-of Life Doula
When facing the emotional and complex journey of losing a loved one, Kathy, a gifted end-of-life doula, can offer invaluable support
Here are five main benefits among many others:
𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: An end-of-life doula provides compassionate and non-judgmental emotional support to both the person nearing the end of life and their family members. They can offer a listening ear, empathy, and companionship during one of the most profoundly difficult and painful times in one's life.
𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: A doula helps families navigate the unfamiliar territory of end-of-life care by educating them about the dying process, what to expect, and how to manage it.
𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲: End-of-life doulas advocate for the dying person's wishes and needs, ensuring that their voice is heard and respected.
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: By handling various practical tasks, such as coordinating with healthcare providers and managing care logistics, doulas can alleviate some of the burden on family members.
𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: A doula works to create a calm and peaceful environment that supports a dignified and respectful death, including setting up a comfortable space.
In one word, having an end-of-life doula can make a profound difference in ensuring that the final chapter of a loved one's life is as supportive, dignified, and meaningful as possible
